I TELL YOU

I tell you “in the river or not at all,”
I mean “you can’t be alive while trying not to be.”
I tell you “jump off a cliff,” I tell you “either or,”
I tell you.

You tell me that you know,
you mean that you wish you did,
you mean there is no right answer,
you mean very little to me.

I tell you about unconditional love and then leave,
I mean give me what I came here for.
I tell you “jump off a cliff.”
I mean it’s already too late to go back.

You tell me that you know,
you mean that you don’t.
You mean anything
at all.
